Q IMA4:1 does not seem to play very well on the PC (distant helicopter effect).
Is this a known problem, or is there a special way of making these files other
than SoundConverter?
A The IMA4:1 playback problem that you described is a known problem on some PCs.
QuickTime for Windows 2.0.2 has better data buffering, and it solves this
problem for the Forte16 sound card.
SoundConverter is currently the only utility that can create
QuickTime-compatible IMA4:1 sound tracks. The problem you are experiencing is
related to the PC and the sound card. The IMA tracks are valid, and they will
play back properly on a Macintosh.
